That's Arkansas weather for you. From a picnic to an ice storm in the same week!

6 months
Six months. How can it be? Congratulations to Jeff and me for keeping a baby happy, healthy, and alive for half a year!
Julia has really been developing/showing her personality this past month. She's usually happy and content but when she does not like something, she lets you (and anyone else that happens to be in the area) know about it. Some recent milestones... found her feet, eating pureed food (green beans and sweet potatoes so far), rolling over from back to tummy, sitting unassisted for a few seconds, likes looking at herself in a mirror, and noticing Murphy more.
Julia likes: her mommy and daddy, story time at the library, her grandparents, going on walks, eating, baby dolls, rolling over, facetime on my phone, peek a boo, bath time, chewing on anything and everything, and having books read to her.
Julia dislikes: being in the doctor exam room, not taking a long enough nap, being the only person in a room, rolling over and getting stuck on her tummy, and strangers (it takes her a minute to warm up to people).
Stats:
Julia is 26" long (I'm not sure that is quite accurate- that would be two inches in one month) and weighs 15 lbs 9.5 oz.
Dear Julia,
You are so fun! You are very alert and constantly taking in your surroundings- this makes nursing you a bit of a challenge as you are very interested in every single thing around you (TV! Daddy! Ceiling fan! Murphy! A lamp! You get the idea...). You are constantly chewing on something and you remind me of a little puppy dog always having something in your mouth. Staying home with you right now is the absolute best thing. I love it! And you seem pretty happy with it too. Every day brings something new, and it is amazing to be able to watch you grow and develop.
I don't know what we did before you. You are easily the greatest thing that has happened to us.
Love you always,
Mommy

yum yum yum... or not
Julia had her first taste of food a week before turning six months. We made puréed green beans. The first time we fed them to her she would get some in her mouth and gag on the texture. Not too much of a fan starting out (I think she really would have preferred steak) but she's getting the hang of it.

Our week in review
1. Julia with hair. I guess this is how she would look with a toupe.
2. Reunited and it feels so good! Jeff said us being gone for 5 days was too long.
3. Sitting in her high chair for the first time while we ate dinner.
4. Visiting with great grandma!
5. Rolling over from back to tummy. She did this the first time on February 5th. If only she could remember how to roll back over on to her back!

Great Grandma
We got to see my grandma today for a little bit. She hadn't seen Julia since she was a few weeks old so it was nice to be able to get together. They like each other!
"Boy or girl?"
This is a question I was asked today while my sweet baby was wearing a sweater dress, jeggings, AND A BOW. Seriously? Julia rarely leaves the house without a bow, her wardrobe is about 90% pink, and yet this is still a question that I get about once a week. Any follow up statements on how pretty she is or how much they like her blue eyes fall on deaf ears. Move along, person without any sense.

Fun in the big D
Julia and I flew down to Dallas for a long weekend to see my family while Jeff worked. We had a great time, as we always do when we come down!
These peeps are crazy about Julia (duh, who isn't!) and the feeling is 100% mutual. Julia loves her grandma, grandpa, and uncle Mikey!!
Update: Julia was a great flyer on our way home- she fell asleep as we pulled away from the gate, and woke up when I took my seat belt off once we were ready to get off the plane. I figured since I said I might edit the post if she wasn't an enjoyable travel mate, I needed to make sure and set the record straight that she's still a superstar traveler!
